Innovative recycled cork tiles inspired by ancient Japan

Its strong Japanese signature is timely and brings restful calm, while cork’s natural appeal adds a timeless look to walls.”

The cork used for Tatami is sourced from the post-industrial waste of wine stopper production. Originally harvested from the bark of cork trees within protected forests, the material is natural and renewable. Ground up and turned into Tatami tiles, the material is thermally efficient with good acoustics, as well as resilient. The design of the new tiles has been inspired by traditional Japanese floor mats.
